    For those  catechists who are pursuing their Basic Catechetical certificate, the following courses will
be offered in our area:

            Ecclesiology (History of Church) - September 24, 2007 -October 29, 2007.
            Location: St. Anthony's of Padua, East Northport
            Time: 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
            Instructor:  Susanne Richards

            Old Testament -January 7, 2008 - February 11, 2008
            Location:  St. Philip Neri, Northport
            Time: 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
            Instructor:  Judy Corbellini

            New Testament - March 31, 2007 - May 5, 2008
            Location:  Christ the King, Commack
            Time: 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
            Instructor:  Kathleen Reid

    To receive the Basic Certificate, one must take three courses in addition to the ones listed above.  
Those courses are Morality, Sacraments and Christology, and though they are not offered in our area
at this time we'll keep you posted if they are offered in the future.
Upon the completion of the Basic course, you may then pursue the Advanced Catechetical Certificate.
There is no information on a schedule of these courses at this time.      

    It is recommended by our diocese that catechists pursue growth in their own faith, knowledge and
spirituality to make the classroom experience more effective, enriching and enjoyable.

    The courses are open to all, not just catechists.  If you are interested in taking any of them, please
