    CATECHIST NOTES
    Saturday October 1, 2011

    *PLEASE ANNOUNCE TO THE DISCIPLES: Everyone must enter and exit the building from the main
    entrance on Fifth Ave. Do not use lower level doors or other doors to enter or exit.

    **We still have a need for catechists – Tuesday Level 7, Wednesday Level 3,and Thursday Level 6.  Please
    ask around to those you know.  

    1) The month of October is Respect Life Month.  October 7th is the Feast of Our Lady
         of the Rosary.  Remind disciples to pray the Rosary for Life and for World
        Peace with their families or on their own during this month.

    2) It’s important that the ATTENDANCE REGISTERS are marked accurately.  They    
         are located in the back pocket of your folder. Use A for Absent,  for Present  
         and LE for Left Early. If a disciple needs to leave before the session ends, an  
         adult must come into the building to sign them out.  We will call over the PA system.  

    3) Continue to collect the “Signature Forms” with the 3 signatures needed. These
         forms should remain in your folder.  All parents must sign at least the top portion
         indicating they’ve read the Policy Statement with their child.  Additional blank   
         forms are available at the front desk.  It is your responsibility to be sure all your
         students turn in a form.  

    4)  Pictures cannot be taken of the children unless parents sign the RELEASE FORM
        on part two of the Parent Signature page. If one parent does not sign – pictures
         cannot be taken of the entire class.

    5) All Absentees must bring you a note when they return to class and complete the
        work that was missed while they were out.  Please enforce this rule.

    6) All those absent last week, send to the front desk with their Class Form to pick up
        a TEXTBOOK. Please collect and check that all class forms are completely filled in
        before accepting them from the children.

    7) Inform your disciples that their books will cost $20.00 for a replacement if lost.  
        Instruct them to write their name, room number and your name on the inside.

    8) Disciples should always be supervised by an adult.  If you need something from the
        front desk, send one of your disciples, do not leave them alone.  

    9) IMPORTANT! At the end of Session 2 classes, instruct the disciples to put
       chairs on top of the desks. Last week chairs were not put up. Close and lock          
        all windows and pull on the outside door to be sure it is locked.

    10) Level 7: Do not accept Commitment Pledge Forms in class.  Please emphasize the
         importance of returning Commitment Pledge at 7PM Mass on Oct. 16th.  If they
         cannot come to the Mass they must see Pat after Oct. 16th.

    11) Classes in PO1 return chairs to their original place before leaving every week.

    12) Classes in PO2 return folding chairs to the hallway before leaving every week.
