2) Catechetical Service Awards were presented on Tuesday evening at St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre. Congratulations to four of our catechists who were acknowledged and received certificates for their years of service: Bishop John R. McGann Award 30 Years Antoinette Blanck & Ray Lang Elizabeth Ann Seton Award 20 Years Jean Hewston & Irene Lang 3) The next Catechist Formation for Session #3 & Session #12 will be offered Mon. Nov. 7, 2011. Please RSVP to either the 10:00am class or the 7:30pm class. 4) If you have not attended a Virtus Training, Judy is presenting Virtus here on Sat. Nov. 19, 2011 at 9:30AM in the Lower Church Alcove. You must register online at www.Virtus.org. All catechists working with children must attend a Virtus Training. 5) In your folders find an instruction packet titled “The Mass: Helping Kids Take Their Part” to help you teach the changes in the Mass beginning the first week of Advent November 27th. It should be self explanatory, any questions ask us. 6) FYI - Letters are being sent to those disciples who haven’t attended classes or who have attended only one class. To keep you informed, copies of letters sent are in your folder. If you made phone calls home please let us know the outcome in writing. 7) If you are a seasoned catechist and would like to be a mentor to one of our many new catechists please leave me a note is your folder so that I could match you up. 8) Catechist Notes will be posted to the Religious Ed Website every Monday. Go to www.saintanthonysreligioused.com click on For Catechists, catechist notes are at the bottom in date order. 9) Remind your children not to use any of the supplies from the desks they sit at, even if it’s just a pencil. We have all you need at the front desk. All the supplies in the desks belong to the children that attend the school during the week. Teacher’s supplies also should not be used. 10) Instruct your children to respect the property of others by not writing or defacing the desks or the books of the Trinity School Students. LEVEL 6 Catechists: Absolutely no level 6 children are permitted to sign themselves out. Have a peace filled session! |
