CATECHIST NOTES Tues., Wed., Thurs. & Sat. Nov. 10,11,12 & 14, 2009
1) IMPORTANT ALL CATECHISTS-A meeting to clarify details of the Advent/ Christmas
Presentation after classes on Nov. 17, 18, 19, 21. This is an opportunity to ask questions after
reviewing the Presentation Outline you received last week.
2) ATTENTION ALL CATECHISTS: Song sheets and discs for Advent/Christmas
Presentation are in your folders. Use these to practice each week and return both
papers and discs each week in your folder.
3) If a student begins attending class after receiving the letter we sent home last
week please ask them to bring in a note and to make up the work that was missed.
4) St. Vincent de Paul Society supplied a list of items needed for the food pantry. If
you do a food collection in your class please use the attached list.
5) Announce to your class - Advent wreath making after the 9am Mass on Sunday,
Nov. 29, the first Sunday of Advent–orders for candles and greens, $5.00 or orders
for full rings, greens and candles $10 will be taken at the 9am Mass on Nov. 15&22.
6) Distribute the attached pink flyers to all the Brownies and Girl Scouts in your class.
If more flyers are needed send someone to the front desk.
Levels 3-8 Catechists: 1) Attached Gospel Weeklies and Teacher Guide for you to use with your
class when reading and explaining the next 8 weeks of Sunday Gospels.
ATTENTION LEVELS 4-6 CATECHISTS:
1) Catholic Daughters Contest is open to Grade 4-6. The contest themes are “The
Joys of God Surround Us” or “The Joys Life Brings Through Others.”
Attached are the rules, regulations and entry form. Strongly encourage your
disciples to participate and enlist help from their parents. Strict adherence to
rules and regulations are a must. Deadline is January 29, 2010. If anyone is
interested, additional forms are available at the front desk. Let’s have a great
representation from Rel. Ed this year.
Level 7: Remind your disciples to bring their signed Commitment Pledge to the 7:00pm
Mass this Sunday to receive a Bible and to enter the Confirmation Program.
Levels 7&8: Please announce and explain the “General Contest Rules” for the 2010 RESPECT
LIFE CONTEST. Encourage your disciples to discuss the contest with family members and to
obtain a registration form at the front desk if interested. All entries must be submitted to St.
Anthony’s Rel. Ed Office by Jan. 11, 2010. The Diocesan Office will award 3 cash prizes to each
of the 4 categories. Good Luck!

Relics of St. Mary Magdalene
Thursday, November 12, 2009, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Often referred to as the Apostle of the Apostles, have been venerated in the Diocese of Frejus-
Toulon, France since the second century. One of these relics, a major piece of her tibia, has
been offered for veneration for the first time in many dioceses in the United States. The purpose
of the tour is to share the holiness of the relic and to tell the story of the saint who is recorded
as the first witness to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The relic can be venerated in the Main
Chapel of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington.
Relic of St. Mary Magdalene
Relics of St. Mary Magdalene have been venerated in the Diocese of Frejus-Toulon, France
since the second century.
One of these relics, a piece of the tibia, can be venerated in the Main Chapel of the Seminary of
the Immaculate Conception in Huntington:
Thursday, November 12, 2009, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Members of the public are invited to participate in any or all of the above events in the Main
Chapel.
