CATECHIST NOTES Tues., Wed., Thurs. & Sat. Nov. 3, 4, 5 & 6, 2009
1) Reminder - Wednesday classes are not in session next week November 11th and
Saturday classes are not in session next week November 14th.
2) IMPORTANT ALL CATECHISTS - Please see attached three page notice which
contains information and instructions about our “Newly Created” Advent/Christmas
Presentation. We’ll have a short meeting to clarify details and to answer any
questions after classes on Nov. 17, 18, 19, 21. Please plan to be with us in the gym
for 15 to 20 min.
3) FYI- Letters have been sent to those disciples who haven’t attended classes.
4) If a disciple was absent last week distribute the Parent Enrichment flyer to them.
5) We have been informed, a Wednesday Level 4 Catechist can no longer teach her
class due to a personal matter. Please help us recruit a catechist for that class.
5) Substitutes are becoming more and more difficult to recruit. If you are going to
be in need of a substitute, please look to the parents of your students. Inquire in
advance if one of them could substitute for you in the event you are unable to be
here. They would need to meet with either Eileen, Pat or Judy and complete the
necessary paperwork. Start asking your parents now.
7) Disciples should always be supervised by an adult. If you need something from the
front desk, send one of your disciples.
8) By now you should have collected all Parent Agreement Forms. Please leave all
these Forms and Class Forms in your folder. Do not take them home.
9)Attendance Registers, Sign Out Sheets (level 2-6) and Chapters Covered sheet
must stay in your folder at all times, do not take them home.
10) Pictures should not be taken of the children unless parents sign a RELEASE FORM.
11) REMINDER: Catechist Formation Meeting November 9 in the lower church
alcove 10am – 12noon or 7:30pm – 9:30pm. Covering Session 6 “God’s Self
Disclosure and Session 9 “Respecting Human Experience.”
LEVEL 6 Catechists:
1) Absolutely no level 6 disciples are permitted to sign themselves out.
2) Two booklets are supplied for you to take home and read. “Why go to Mass”
and “The Bible and You.” If you would like to use either one with your class,
please leave a note in your folder.

1) Attached is your copy of the Confirmation packet so you can read it at home and
prepare to present it the week of Nov. 17,18,19,21 when your disciples will receive
their copies. The packet is an “at-home” project not to be used as a class project.
Level 8:Remind disciples to bring their books, Bibles and FAQs booklet each week.
