Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday Nov. 8, 9, 10 & 12, 2011 1) If a student begins attending class after they receive the letter we sent home last Week, please ask them to bring in a note and to make up the work that they missed in your class while they were out. 2) If your class plans on collecting anything for St. Vincent de Paul for Thanksgiving the following is what they are asking of us. “We need one pound coffee cans, bottles of Apple Juice. We need 100 coffee for Thanksgiving and 100 coffee for Christmas and 100 bottles of Apple juice for just Thanksgiving. Anything is a help Thanks. We are giving them out November 20th and making the baskets November 19th starting at noon. 3) Levels 3-8 Catechists: In your folder please find the new Gospel Weeklies and Teacher Guides for you to use with your class when reading and explaining the next 8 weeks of Sunday Gospels. 4) Level 6: a) Letters went home to parents of the level 6 children, inviting them to a Bible Presentation Teen Mass 7:00PM on November 20th. Along with that I’m asking the children to write a Mass Reflection for that evening’s Mass. If they cannot make that Mass they should go to another Mass and write a reflection, bring the mass reflection to me and in turn I will give them a Bible. They should bring their Bible to every class. Please use them in your weekly lessons. b) The week of March 4th 2012 all level 6 students will take part in a Religious Ed. Assessment. I will have a parent meeting on Thursday, January 19th to explain the assessment and hand out a review sheet so that the parents can help their child prepare. I’ve enclosed a copy of the assessment for you along with an answer sheet and a review sheet. I don’t think I have to tell you not to share the answers with anyone including the parents. Any questions please feel free to ask me. 5) Level 7 & 8: Last week you received your large red envelope. Use this envelope to take home the children’s completed Confirmation Preparation work only after we’ve seen it. The large clear envelope stays in your folder along with the checklist. When the work gets handed into you, mark the checklist with the date you received it and put it into the clear envelope and leave it in your folder. When we see the work we will highlight the check list and give the work back to you. Transfer the work to your large red envelope. Take it home and write positive remarks on their work. Do not give the work back to them. Hold onto all their work, staple it together, and return it to your students at the end of the year when their packets are complete. 6) Level 8: All students are receiving a book called FAQs about Confirmation. Please work it into your lessons. |
