                                                               CATECHIST NOTES
                                       Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday
                                                   December 13, 14, 15 & 17, 2011

    1) Let us not forget that at Christmas we celebrate the birth of Our Savior Jesus
Christ, when God became man.  Therefore, as Catholics, as catechists, as teachers
of the Faith please do not shy away from wishing everyone you meet a Merry
Christmas (yes even in the stores) instead of Happy Holidays.  If it wasn’t for the
birth of Jesus Christ we wouldn’t be celebrating anything or buying anything.

    2) The next time we meet will be the week of January 2, 2012.

    3) All Catechists: We no longer have access to the school’s copy machine.  Please call
Anne in our office at 261-1306 to have copies made prior to your class time.
Remember our office is closed on Fridays.

    4) St. Anthony’s Annual Christmas Concert presented by our adult, children’s and
hand bell choirs will be held Sunday December 18th at @ 4PM in the church.

    5) Place all Christmas Gifts that are brought in today outside your classroom door.

    6)  Please do not have Christmas Parties in your classrooms today.  The principal
has asked us not to have food or drinks in the classrooms because of food allergies.

    7)  Please be sure all work is made up by those students who have been absent.  A note
must also be brought in.  Put notes in your folder.  We’ve noticed that many of the
absent notes are not including the dates of the absences just a general excuse.
Please read the notes to be sure the dates are included.

    8) LEVELS 4-8: Encourage your disciples to enter the Catholic Daughters Contest.
Forms are available at the front desk.  They can work on it over Christmas break.

    9) LEVEL 6: If children in your class did not receive a Bible, please tell them to go to
Mass during Christmas and write a Mass Reflection.  Bring it to Pat at the front
desk and they will receive a Bible.

    10) LEVELS 7 & 8:
    a)   Teen Mass Sunday December 18th 7:00 PM:  Encourage all disciples to attend.
If they haven’t written a reflection for a Teen Mass now is the time to attend this
         Mass.
    b)   Advent Mass Reflections can still be written for the Dec. 18th Mass if they
         haven’t already written one.
    c)   Continue to collect all completed Confirmation Packet work. Keep the work in
the large clear envelope so that we may look it over before giving it back to you
         to take home to read.

We are grateful for your generosity and kindness to the children and for sharing
your gifts of Time and Talent with them.  May God’s Blessings be bountiful as we
celebrate once again the birth of Jesus into our Lives.
