CATECHIST NOTES Tues. Wed. Thurs. & Sat. - Feb. 23, 24, 25 & 27, 2010
1) Wednesday and Thursday Catechists – Meeting today, room #110, following the
Session. Topics of discussion: Religious Ed Week March 14-21 AND preparing for
Young Stewards Day April 20 - 24. Handouts will be provided at the mtg.
2) If anyone missed the meeting last session please see us to catch-up.
3) REMINDER: Level 3-8 An Information Packet for the Sacrament of Reconciliation
is in your folder for you to take home and read.
4) Level 8 will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation today. However, on Thurs.
Feb. 25th both Levels 7 & 8 will receive the Sacrament. If you haven’t already done
so, please distribute the enclosed “Examination of Conscience” and the “Prayer
Pamphlet” to your disciples today.
5) Those receiving Reconciliation today meet at the front desk. Do not go to your
classroom. Anyone who is absent today may receive the sacrament next week.
6) Level 7 should be ready to go for Reconciliation next week Tues., March 2nd
Wed., March3rd and Sat., March 6th and Level 6 should be ready Thurs. March 4th.
Please review the handout “Examination of Conscience” and “Celebrating the
Sacrament” with your disciples today. Please be understanding, if there are not
enough priests available, your grade levels might not go as scheduled.
7) Level 6 Catechists – Reminder to view the Video “The Mass”, that was distributed
at the Level 6 meeting, in helping to ready the disciples for the assessment that will
be given on March 23, 24, 25 and 27.
8) Level 3-6:Lenten Calendars for your disciples are in your folders today. Please
distribute and take some time to explain them to your disciples. Encourage them to
keep up with the calendar at home throughout the Lenten Season.
9) Catholic Update – “Lessons of the Heart” day by day was enclosed last week for you
to take home and use on your Lenten Journey.
10)Any letters or e-mails going home need to be reviewed by our office one
week prior to being sent home.
11)Every absence should be excused by a written note from parent. Make-up
work should be assigned by you for every absence. (Letters have been sent home for 5 or more
unexcused absences.)
12)ATT: LEVELS 7 & 8:
a) Advise your disciples to put the finishing touches on their Confirmation Packets
so they will be completed by the due dates. Please call the parent of anyone who
has not submitted any of the Mass reflections.
b) New DVDs about Confirmation, The Mass and Teen Scenes are available.
