ruary 7, 8, 9 & 11, 2012

       1) As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, Monday, February 14th, we think of all the    
         wonderful things you do to show your love and concern for your young disciples and
         we thank you.  God loves a cheerful giver and so do we.

    2) Reminder: The school rule is; No food or drinks in the classroom at any time.

    3) Thank you for attending last week’s Young Stewards Day and Religious Ed Week
         meeting.  If you were unable to attend come see us for the paperwork.  

    4) An article “Stewardship in Plain English” is in your folder for you to read so that you
         might be able to teach your class about Stewardship while discussing your project.  
         Young Stewards Day is scheduled the week of April 22nd, the last day of classes.

    5) Religious Ed Week is the week between Sunday, March 11th and Sunday, March 18th.
        As mentioned at the meeting feel free to do something special with your class that
     week, you may also invite the parents to your class to observe a lesson. There will be a  
     blessing for all catechists Sunday, March 18th at the 10:30am Mass along with   
     Completion Certificates presented to those catechists who completed all 12 sessions of
     “Echoing the Word From the Center” presented by Karen Breen & Marion Moricca.  

    6) Ash Wednesday is Feb. 22nd ; look ahead in your books for Chapters covering Lent,
        Reconciliation, Easter and Eucharist.  Skip ahead and cover those chapters.

    7) Discipline problems need to be addressed immediately.  If you are having difficulty  
         with someone in class, send them out into the hallway or to us at the front desk, we
         will speak with them.  You may call the parents and ask for their support to achieve     
        better behavior.

    8) A flyer is enclosed as an invite for you to attend a Lenten Day of Recollection
         offered to all women of the parish at the Seminary in Huntington on March 3rd.

    9) ATT: LEVELS 7 & 8:
            We are receiving projects and assignments without names. Please be sure your
            students put their names on all work they hand in.
            a.        Letters have been sent home to those students who haven’t completed the
                     Confirmation Projects and Assignments thus far.  Please remind those students
                     who are missing work to bring it into you.
            b.        When we check the packets, if items are missing but checked off we left a
                     note in your folder inquiring about those missing items.  Please respond as
                     soon as possible.
            c.        Thank you for keeping track of the packets for your class and for taking the
                     time to write positive remarks on each packet.  Kindness and encouragement
                     will mean a lot when they are read by each disciple. Hold onto them until the
                     end of the program year.
