      *RETURN YOUR FOLDER TO THE FRONT DESK WHEN YOU LEAVE TODAY*

    1) There is a short parent meeting in the gym today for all parents Levels 1-8.

    2) Distribute books only to disciples who hand you a CLASS FORM and whose name is  
        on your attendance register.  Check the form over to be sure it is completely filled
        in.  If not give it back to your student for completion.  NO FORM, NO BOOK!
        If he/she forgot the form send him/her to the front desk for a new Class Form.

    3) Textbooks are in a box on the floor in the front of the classroom. Instruct the
        disciples to write their name, room number and your name on the inside front
       cover of their book. Session 1 Catechists: Leave the boxes and left over books in
        the classrooms for Session 2 classes.  Session 2 Catechists: Bring extra books &
       boxes to the front desk as you leave.

    4) ATTENDANCE REGISTERS are located in the back pocket of your folder –
        Use A for Absent,  for Present and LE for Left Early. If a disciple needs to     
        leave before the session ends, an adult must come into the building to sign them out.    
        We will call your classroom over the PA system.  Attendance Registers must stay in
       your folder, do not take it home.  

    5) CATECHETICAL SUNDAY will be celebrated Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the      
        10:30 AM Mass. Please attend to receive a special blessing from the priest.  
        
    6) All Catechists must attend a VIRTUS Training Session. You must register online at  
         www.virtus.org.  Check their website for the next available session at a nearby           
         parish.  Attendance one time is all that is required.

    7) If you did attend a Virtus Training Session and haven’t given us a copy of your    
        VIRTUS Completion Certificate and Training Report, now would be a good time to do
        that.  October 15th is our deadline.  If you are having a problem online with obtaining      
        your certificate or training record please call the diocesan office at (516) 678-5800      
        ext. 585 Beverly Leonetti or ext. 573 Eileen Puglisi.

    LEVELS 1-6: #1-Use orange sign out sheet for dismissal procedure each week.  
        # 2-Index cards are available for each disciple to use as nameplates to display on
        their desk.  Send someone to the front desk to receive enough for each disciple.
        # 3-The “Getting to Know Me” forms you requested at the meeting are in your
         folders.  This is a good first day activity.  Disciples can complete the form & return it
         to you. Take the forms home so you can get to know and pray for each disciple.   

    LEVEL 7: In your folder is a copy of the letter and Commitment Pledge that was mailed
      home to all level 7 parents.  Do not accept any Commitment Pledge forms in class.  
      They must be returned at the Commitment Pledge Mass on October 16th.  I also made         
      you a copy of the Confirmation Prep Packet that will be mailed home next week.  Please      
      take this home and review it so that you can explain it to the children next week.  

    LEVEL 8: Everyone must use main entrance of school. Do not use lower level doors.
